Aterciopelados
Aterciopelados
Political, Provocative, Folk -Surf Alternative Rock Pioneers.

When Aterciopelados hit the scene in 1991, they left Latin America with its mouth open- the band was unafraid to be political and provocative, combined folk with surf rock and other unimaginable elements, and used their outfits as expression parallel to their songs. Andrea Echeverri and Hector Buitrago are Aterciopelados, which became a band to stand up to the mainstream and scream just as loudly.

Their sophomore album El Dorado (1995) turned them into the biggest-selling rock band to come out of Colombia. Since then, they've captivated audiences all over their world with their every-changing and fearless compositions. They've been nominated various times for Grammys and have taken home many Latin Grammys. In 2006 they were recognized by Time Magazine as one of the top global bands (alongside U2 and The Rolling Stones).
Cuco
Cuco
Cuco is an 18-year old self-produced Chicano singer out of Los Angeles, CA -- specifically the city of Hawthorne.

Cuco, born Omar Banos, first began playing music at the age of 8 years old.

After teaching himself how to use Ableton, Cuco was eager to start independently releasing his own music once finishing high school.

In 2016, Cuco released his first mixtape Wannabewithu -- a collection of teenage heartbreak over abstract chords, lo fi synths, ambient guitars, punchy drums, and lead trumpets that resonated with thousands of music lovers everywhere.

Mere months later, Cuco welcomed his newfound fans, or "Cuco Pebbles," with a follow up mixtape Songs4u (2017). Having only played So-Cal DIY house shows until recently, Cuco was shocked to sell out his first two venue shows at the Hi-Hat in Highland Park and the Constellation Room in Santa Ana.

With more shows already lined up for 2017, it's looking like a life-altering year for Hawthorne's Cuco.
Ximena Sariñana
Ximena Sariñana
Ximena Sariñana Rivera (born October 29, 1985) is a Grammy Award and Latin Grammy nominated Mexican singer-songwriter and actress. Sariñana's musical career was launched in 2008 with the release of her first studio album Mediocre, an adult contemporary pop-rock/vocal jazz album that has been critically acclaimed and nominated for various awards, including two nominations in the Latin Grammy Awards of 2008.
Very Be Careful
Very Be Careful
Adventure has never been a task for VBC. A Caribbean soul and a California heart have sustained over a decade of ceaseless romp-downs and raucous times for L.A.’s vallenato veteranos, inciting 10s of 1000s of men, women, children, and even some wild animals, to boogie to the Colombian coastal beat. From the debaucherous streets of: Austin’s SXSW, Germany’s WorldCupTour ’06, L.A.'s SunsetJunctionStreetFair; to the cultural pinnacles of: Chicago’s SummerDanceSeries, New York’s CentralParkSummerstage, L.A.s’ GrandPerformances & Levitt Pavilion, London’s HammersmithApollo; colossal concerts: L.A. Sports Arena CumbiaFest, GlastonburyMusicFestival & Bestival UK, FujiRockFestival & AsagiriJam Japan; clubs and hubs: N.Y.’s SOBs, L.A.’s HOBs, backyard BBQs, VeryBeCareful has tamed the beasts within or unleashed the ones without, helping to popularize the beauty of the 1950s-1970s sound of Colombian vallenato and cumbia. Bootlegged across the Americas, pumped at the clubs, and ripped on the radio, satellite, and internet stations of Japan, Argentina, México, England, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Colombia, Canada and the USA, VeryBeCareful forges ahead globetrotting alongside legends and antiheros: JoeStrummer, AlfredoGutierrez, Antibalas, CarlosVives, GrupoNiche, KronosQuartet, GogolBordello, BuenaVistaSocialClub, JackWhite, CelsoPiña, VampireWeekend, FrukoYSusTesos. Their infamous fifteen year traditions hosting old school “dances” for Valentine’sDay, NewYear’sEve, 20deJulio, Halloween, and the legendary July Fourth Brooklyn “CumbiaUnderTheSparks” rooftop affair, has brought together people from around the globe itchin’ for those early roots sounds that prove a stripped down parranda is the fiercest and funnest way to party.
La Chamba
La Chamba
La Chamba fuses Psychedelic Electric Guitar & Organs with heavy Afro-Latin rhythms (such as cumbia, salsa, timba, rumba) to create a working-class sound inspired by 60's & 70's psychedelic Peruvian Surf-Pop known as "Chicha".

With roots in East and South Los Angeles, “Chamba” literally means “work,” and is a word used throughout the barrios of Latin America to describe your hustle. Their sound pays homage to the vintage melodies and hard-hitting dance grooves of Peruvian Chicha music, popular among the working-classes of Lima and the Amazon. La Chamba encourages folks to let-loose and release their grind on the dance floor!
Oaxacan Relief
Oaxaca and Chiapas are still suffering from the 8.2 magnitude earthquake on September 7.
In honor of the Oaxacan roots of Dia de Los Muertos and in recognition of the many Oaxacans who have participated and supported our event over the last 18 years, we are donating $1 from each ticket sale to Oaxacan Earthquake Relief. Our friends from Guelaguetza, the Lopez family, have participated in our event for 15 years and are collecting funds to rebuild homes in the area (Poroaxaca). Our friends at the Institute of if Graphic Arts of Oaxaca (IAGO) are providing 2000 free meals a day and helping to relocate 500 families. Thank you for helping us help them.
